ENSENDA LAUNCHES NEW SYSTEM INTEGRATION COMPONENT--ENSENDA AGENT
Enhances Carriers Existing Technology
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — July 1, 2008— Ensenda, a leading last mile logistics company servicing the U.S. and Canada, announced the production launch of its new system integration component, Ensenda Agent.
Ensenda Agent is a small footprint software server that resides on the carrier side of the network behind their firewall. Ensenda Agent is responsible for communicating directly with the Ensenda Smart Delivery Network to provide the heartbeat of the end systems, as well as facilitating inbound and outbound messages.
“The challenge in managing a delivery network is the ability to communicate real time delivery data among various systems between customers and carriers. The Ensenda Agent provides a standard XML interface to enable delivery conversations among systems used by carriers and Ensenda Smart Delivery Network. This component also includes a set of development tools and test suites to allow any network participants to self-integrate onto the network,” said Ensenda Chief Technology Officer Tony Stone. “The Ensenda Agent helps us to rapidly expand our delivery network and provide real time delivery visibility. At the same time, it does not restrict the carriers' choice of systems.”
“To further facilitate the system integration via the Ensenda Agent and ease the integration cost for each individual carrier, Ensenda is also partnering with several top carrier dispatch systems to prepackage this integration component with their systems,” said Ensenda Director of Product Management Vianna Quock. “These strategic partnerships greatly benefit the carriers who use their systems. They will be Ensenda Smart Delivery Network integration-ready from day one with minimum to no extra cost. They can join the Ensenda Smart Delivery Network by simply turning on a switch.”
